Pairing the Camera with a Smartphone

Wireless LAN connection settings can be configured by simply establishing a Bluetooth wireless technology connection (pairing) between the camera and smartphone.

Up to two cameras can be paired with a smartphone at one time.

  • The camera operations you need to perform depend on the camera model. For full details, see the user documentation that comes with your camera.

1.Prepare the camera for pairing as described below.

Camera Equipped with a Monitor Screen

On the camera, enter a wireless mode and then select “Pairing”.

Camera Not Equipped with a Monitor Screen

Use the procedure provided in the user documentation that comes with the camera to set it up for pairing.

2.On the smartphone, start up the “EXILIM Connect” app.

  • If this is the first time you are starting up EXILIM Connect, a “LICENSE AGREEMENT” and “Privacy Policy” will appear. Tap “Agree”. This will display a screen that explains app functions.
On the screen, tap “Next” to continue to the text screen. Tapping “Done” at the end will display the top screen (EXILIM Connect Top Screen).

3.On the smartphone, tap “Pairing”.

4.On the smartphone, tap the camera’s name (SSID) you want to pair with.

This establishes a Bluetooth wireless connection between the camera and smartphone.

  • The camera name (SSID) will be displayed after you enter the Wireless Mode on the camera and select “Pairing”.
On the screen that appears, check the “Device” item.
If your camera is not equipped with a monitor screen, you can find its name (SSID) on the sheet that comes packed with it.
  • If the smartphone is already paired with two cameras, a camera selection screen appears. Select the camera whose pairing you want to overwrite.

5.Follow the instructions that appear on the smartphone to complete the pairing operation.

  • In the case of an iPhone (iOS), you need to configure wireless LAN settings (install a profile).
  • If there is no wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone, use the smartphone’s Wi-Fi settings to select the camera’s SSID to establish a wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone.

Entering the Camera’s Wireless Mode

To connect with a camera or to send pictures from a camera that has not been paired with the smartphone, put the camera into its Wireless Mode.
