Troubleshooting

Q1I don’t know the camera name required for pairing.

  • The camera name (SSID) will be displayed after you enter the Wireless Mode on the camera, and then select “Pairing”.
On the screen that appears, check the “Device” item.
If your camera is not equipped with a monitor screen, you can find its name (SSID) on the sheet that comes packed with it.

Q2The camera won’t send movies.

  • Auto Send for movies is limited to 100 MB per movie.
When selecting images on a camera to send to a phone (Send Selected Image, Quick Send), you can select up to 500 MB total. The number of files per send operation depends on the connected camera model.
When using smartphone operation to receive movies (Viewing Images on a Smartphone), there is no limit.

Q3I can’t establish a wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone.

  • If the smartphone or other device has a Wi-Fi connection auto switching function (auto network switching), the function may be affecting the connection with the camera. Disable Wi-Fi connection auto switching (network auto switching) by clearing the setting’s check box, etc.
  • Delete the camera’s SSID from the smartphone Wi-Fi settings, and then re-input it along with the required password.

Q4A movie sent to a smartphone cannot be viewed. I don’t know where the movie file is stored.

  • Some terminals store movies in a folder named EXILIM Connect.
You will require a movie player that supports playback of MOV type movie files. Depending on your movie player app, you may not be able to playback movies and/or output audio.

Q5I can’t establish a Bluetooth wireless technology connection between the camera and smartphone.

  • Use Bluetooth low energy technology to connect the camera with the smartphone.
Confirm that the smartphone you are using is Bluetooth low energy technology compatible. If you are unsure whether it does, contact the manufacturer of your smartphone.
  • Leaving Bluetooth on the smartphone set to “On” is recommended.
  • The camera cannot connect with a smartphone if they are too far apart from each other.

Q6Remote Capture shooting is not performed when I tap “Remote Capture” on the smartphone.

Q7I don’t see any images when I tap “View on Phone” on the smartphone.

  • If the camera is not paired with the smartphone, you will need to establish a wireless LAN connection between them (Viewing Images on a Smartphone).

Q8I can’t share images with an album.

  • If you do not have the Scene app installed on the smartphone, install it.
After installing the Scene app, start it up and create an album.
For information about Scene app operations, contact Ripplex Inc.
  • Turn on “Share Album in Scene app” and select the album where you want the images to be stored.

Q9Location information is not added to snapshots sent to the smartphone.

  • Pair the camera and smartphone, and then establish a Bluetooth wireless technology connection between them.
  • Use the procedure described in the user’s guide to configure wireless settings and to select “On” for location information.
  • Make sure that the settings for location information are enabled on your smartphone and app.
  • Configure smartphone settings to acquire location information, and make sure it is where location information can be received.
