Lunar Observation Direction (Hour Angle)

The lunar observation direction is expressed as an hour angle, with an angle of 00:00 when the Moon is directly overhead, 06:00 when it is 90° to the west from overhead, 12:00 when it is directly below, and 18:00 when it is 90° to the east from overhead. The Moon takes an average of approximately 24 hours and 50 minutes to perform one revolution around the Earth.
