Handling and Care

Q1
Are there any precautions concerning putting on, taking off, or wearing the watch?
A1
 • To ensure you do not accidentally fall over or become injured, make sure you are in a safe location before looking at the display of the watch. Particular care is required while running or jogging on an open road, while riding a bicycle or motorcycle, or while operating any other vehicle. Looking at the display under such conditions creates the risk of accident. While engaged in an activity (bicycle riding, mountain climbing, fishing, etc.), make sure you completely stop the activity before looking at the watch display. Take sufficient care to avoid running into others.
• To prevent personal injury and skin rash due to allergic reaction, take care to remove the watch before going to bed.
• When picking up or otherwise coming into contact with a child, take care to remove the watch to avoid possible injury to the child or skin rash due to allergic reaction.
• Be sure to remove all protective stickers affixed to the watch and/or band before using it. Using the watch without removing protective stickers may result in the build-up of dirt between the watch/band and the sticker, which creates the risk of rust and skin rash.

The watch and the band come into direct contact with the skin. Conditions such as those listed below can create the risk of skin rash.
• Metal allergy
• Dirt, rust, sweat, or other matter on the watch or band
• Poor physical condition

Tightening the band too snugly promotes sweating and makes it difficult for air to pass under the band, which can lead to skin rash. Allow a bit of looseness when tightening the band.
Should you ever notice any abnormality, immediately stop using the watch and consult a physician.
If you do not plan to use the watch for a long time, thoroughly wipe it free of all dirt, sweat, and moisture, and store it in a location that is not subject to high temperature or high moisture, and/or direct sunlight.
It is also recommended that you use the setting screen to turn off watch power.
Do not allow the watch to come into contact with thinner, gasoline, solvents, fats, or oils, or any cleaners, adhesives, paints, medicines, or cosmetics that contain such ingredients. Such contact can cause discoloration of or damage to a resin case, resin band, and other parts.
Sunblock, hand cream, cosmetics, and other skin applications coming into the back cover of the watch can soil the sensor window, which can cause interference with heart rate accuracy. Avoid use of such skin applications when performing heart rate measurement.
Failure to clean dirt from metal components can lead to formation of rust, even if the components are stainless steel or plated.
If metal components are wet with sweat or water, wipe thoroughly with a soft, absorbent cloth and then place the watch in a well-ventilated location to dry thoroughly.
Use of the watch is limited by legislation governing radio communication in each country.
