Q1What do I need to do to update my WSD-F10 to Android Wear 2.0?

Google released a system update to Android Wear 2.0 in order to improve security and to provide other improvements. Updating is highly recommended.

iPhone

Q1Precautions when the Watch is Paired and Connected with an iPhone
When using the watch while it is paired and connected with an iPhone, be sure to keep the Android Wear app running on the iPhone.
Q2Precautions when Connecting to Wi-Fi with an iPhone
If "No Wi-Fi found" appears while you are accessing the Play Store, tap "Add network" and connect with the network.
If you need to input the network password when adding the network, you will not be able to do so unless the Android Wear app is the foreground screen on the iPhone.
If you keep experiencing problems connect with Wi-Fi, you might try turning off Bluetooth connection. However, turning off Bluetooth beams that information from the iPhone will not be transmitted to the watch. Turn Bluetooth back on after you are finished using Wi-Fi.
Q3WSD-F20 Activity and Location Memory App Displays when Connected with an iPhone
While it is being used paired and connected with an iPhone, the WSD-F20 Activities and Location Memory apps do not use location information from the iPhone. Instead, it always uses information acquired by the watch's built-in GPS. When you are indoors, where GPS signals cannot be received, these apps will not show a map of your current location. Also note that the WSD-F10 does not have built-in GPS, so the current location display function is not supported while it is paired and connected with an iPhone.
Q4Unsupported Functions while Paired and Connected with an iPhone
There is no CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app for the iPhone. The functions below are not supported while the watch is paired and connected with an iPhone.

● Notification when you approach or move away from registered locations
● Location Memory Revisit functions
● iPhone remaining battery power functions

Besides these functions, control of CASIO app functions using watch operations is not supported. For information about Google apps and other company apps, contact the app developer.

Pairing Settings

Q1Can I use this watch with my phone if it isn't a phone?
Sorry, but no.
The initial setup of your smart watch requires use with a phone running the Android OS or iOS.
Q2What type of phones can the watch connect with?
Android™ 4.3 or higher
● Confirm that the terminal is Bluetooth® capable.
● Confirm that the phone can install the Android Wear™ app from Google Play™.

iPhone 5 or higher running iOS 9 or higher
● Some functions may not be supported when connected to iOS.
● Wi-Fi environment required for iOS connection.
Q3What settings are required when pairing with a phone for the first time?
Refer to "Pair your watch with your phone" in Android Wear help.
Q4Is watch data deleted when I unpair from a phone?
Unpairing from a phone resets the watch to its initial factory defaults, which deletes all user data.
Q5If the message "Checking for updates" remains on the screen while paired with a phone, what types of operations are allowed before pairing is complete?
If the message "Checking for updates" remains on the screen, perform the procedure below.

● On the phone, use the Android Wear app's home button to close the screen. Next, re-start the Android Wear app and navigated to the next screen.
● You also may be able to resolve the problem by tapping the watch display to increase its brightness.
● Perform the required operations so the watch's display language and the phone's display language are the same.
(Example: Set the display language for both the watch and the phone to Japanese.) ● Check the phone's communication environment.
Q6What should I do if pairing seems to be taking a long time?
Normally, pairing should take about five minutes to complete. However, network environment conditions and other factors may cause it to take up to 10 minutes. Wait for the process to complete.
Q7Pairing operation will not end.
If pairing by the phone will not end, even though a watch face is shown on the watch.
On the watch, perform the procedure below to cancel pairing settings. Next, perform the pairing operation again from the beginning.
Settings > System > Disconnect & reset If pairing on the phone is complete but a circle continues to rotate on the F10/F20 watch display, press the watch's Power (center right) button. When the app list appear, press the Power button again. Pairing is complete when the watch face appears.

Notifications (General)

Q1What is the stable communication range between the phone and watch?
A range of two meters is recommended as a guideline, but the local environment (walls, furniture, etc.), the structure of a building, and other factors may require a much closer range.
Q2Can the vibration duration be changed?
No.
Q3Can incoming call alerts be received while the watch is in the Timepiece Mode?
No. Communication functions are disabled while the watch is in the Timepiece Mode, so all communications, including incoming call alerts, don't work.
Q4Can I use the watch as a phone?
No.
Q5No phone app notifications comment to the phone or the watch does no vibrate.
Check the points below.

● Android Wear app notifications are enabled in the watch settings.
● Phone app notification notifications are enabled in the phone settings.
● "Block notifications apps" is not registered in the phone's Android Wear app settings.
● Whether or not notification detail settings can be configured by an app depends on the app being used.
● This watch has a silent mode. Swipe the watch face from top to bottom, and then tap the silent mode icon that appears.
● The watch does not have settings to control notification vibration.

Notifications (Phone)

Q1Why isn't my watch notified of incoming calls?
Note the information below.
● Confirm that your phone's Bluetooth is turned on.
● Check to make sure the watch and phone are connected (no cloud mark).
● Confirm that the watch's notification setting is turned on. Check your Android Wear phone app settings to make sure that the applicable app is not blocked.

● Note that some applications do not send notifications to the watch.

Notifications (Current Time)

Q1When are the watch time settings adjusted?
Time syncing is performed automatically whenever a Bluetooth® connection is established between the watch and phone, and whenever the phone's time setting is adjusted.

Q2Does the watch automatically adjust for summer time (DST)?
It depends on the phone being used.

Notifications (Other)

Q1Can the watch's alarm and timer notifications be performed by the phone?
No.

Basic Operations

Q1Can I manually adjust watch time settings without using a phone?
Yes. On the watch's OS setting screen, configure current time settings.

Q2What should I do if the screen locks up and refuses to operate? What should I do if nothing happens when I hold down the power key for more than two seconds?
Hold down the power button until the screen goes white. After about 12 seconds, the screen will go white, indicating that the system is restarting. You can release the power button at this time.
Q3Does the watch have a heart rate monitor (HRM)?
No.
Q4What can I do with the watch without connection with a phone?
Most of the functions of the CASIO apps below are supported.

Note, however, that there is some limitation of functions.
● Tool: Some information is not refreshed.
● MOMENT SETTER: A very small number of menu functions will be disabled.

Besides CASIO apps, the communication-dependent functions below cannot be used.

Q6How do I assign the apps that are started up by the watch's TOOL (upper right) button and APP (lower right) button.
Use the procedure below to assign apps to the TOOL button and APP button.
Settings > Personalization > Customize hardware buttons > Select upper right or lower left, and then specify the desired app.

Wi-Fi

Q1I can't connect to a public Wi-Fi.
Connection to an access point by displaying a browser screen and then connecting to the network (like the Wi-Fi in a net cafe, etc.) is not supported by this watch.
Q2I don't know how to configure Wi-Fi settings.
Android Wear 2.0 or higher
Perform the following operation: Settings > Connectivity > Wi-Fi > Add network. Tap the network to which you want to connect. If a password is required, turn on your phone, make sure its display is on, and then tap "Enter on phone."
On the input dialog that appears on your phone, input the password.
When using this watch while it is connected with an iPhone, be sure to have the Android Wear app running on the iPhone.
Q3Wi-Fi operations
Wi-Fi connection and disconnection by the watch is controlled automatically, so a Wi-Fi connection is established automatically when necessary.
Settings>Connection>”Last used” appears on the Wi-Fi access point screen, but connection is automatic.
Q4The Wi-Fi connection is suddenly lost.
After a network is added, Wi-Fi connection is establish automatically by the OS as required. For a while after establishment of a Wi-Fi connection, the message “Last used” will be displayed, but connection is established when required.
Wi-Fi connection consumes battery power, so there is no setting for continual connection.
Q5When connected with an iPhone, a message saying Wi-Fi is note detected when I access the Google Play store while using the watch.
If "No Wi-Fi found" is displayed
Settings > Connectivity > Wi-Fi > Tap "Add network" and connect.
Q6When using an iPhone, the network password cannot be input on the iPhone when adding a Wi-Fi network.
The password input screen will not be displayed on an iPhone unless the Android Wear app is the foreground screen on the iPhone. After starting up the Android Wear app, perform the watch add network operation. However, the password input screen will not be displayed while Android Wear app Settings are displayed, so close the settings screen before performing the add network operation.
Q7Wi-Fi channel
Wi-Fi channel No. 12 and 13 is unavailable on this watch. Select a Wi-Fi channel from No. 1-11 when designing as channel for an access point.

GPS

Q1What is the accuracy of the GPS location information?
It depends on your current location. Depending on reception conditions, GPS positioning information may include error up to several hundred meters. Because of this, you should never use the GPS function for the applications below.
● For surveying or any other measuring that requires high accuracy
● For navigation of boats, aircraft, motor vehicles, individuals, etc.
● In addition, GPS location information should never be used for any application in which its accuracy could present a risk to human life.
Q2Can GPS be used anywhere for positioning?
Your current location greatly influences your ability to obtain GPS information. You may experience GPS signal reception problems in the areas like the ones described below. In extreme conditions, you may not be able to receive GPS signals at all.
● Where the view of the sky above is narrow or where there is no view of the sky above
● Near trees or buildings
● Near a train station, airport, or other congested locations, or in locations where there is heavy traffic and radio wave interference
● Near railway aerial wires, high-voltage lines, TV towers, etc.
● Underground, in a tunnel, or underwater
● Indoors (Reception may be possible near a window.)
● Near wireless communication equipment or other devices that generate electromagnetic waves.

GPS satellites are in constant motion, so your location, the time of day, or other factors may cause a delay in the positioning operation or may even make positioning impossible.
Q3Is the GPS function of the watch always running?
When the watch is close enough to its paired phone to communicate with it, it will use the phone's location information. The watch's built-in GPS is used when the phone's location information is turned off or when the watch is unable to communicate with the phone.
Note that the WSD-F10 does not have GPS built in.
Q4Is time calibration by GPS supported?
Yes. However, the calibration operation is manual and regular automatic calibration is not performed. GPS information is acquired for your current location and the time is calibrated only when manual calibration is performed. After that, the time setting will gradually become out of sync. You will need to perform manual calibration as required.
Note that GPS time calibration is not necessary if you use the watch in a way that it normally communicates with a phone because the watch will automatically calibrate its time setting with that of the phone.

GPS Time Calibration Procedure
1. Select any CASIO watch face.
2. Go to the setting screen of the selected watch face.
3. On the list of settings, select "GPS Time Calibration" and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
● Not supported by the WSD-F10.
Q5Does GPS time calibration work even in the Timepiece Mode?
Yes. In the Timepiece Mode, GPS time calibration is performed automatically, and no manual operation is required. Note, however, that GPS time calibration is performed regularly only when you are outdoors in an open area where the sky is visible, where satellite signal reception is good. It is not performed if you spend long periods indoors where satellite signals cannot reach.
● Not supported by the WSD-F10.
Q6My smartphone displays my current location on a map, but the watch's Location Memory and Activity apps do not show my current location.
In addition to GPS location information, a smartphone also uses network information (base station radio wave information, etc.) to display your current location. However, network information can at times result it jumps of tens to hundreds of kilometers, CASIO apps don't use it and instead uses GPS location information to display tracks. Because of this, there may be some differences between watch and smartphone location information.

Android Smartphone Users
Since there were calls for the ability to add memos with Location Memory while indoors and underground, updating to the latest version of CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ enables display of your current location, and insertion of memos and marks based on network information. (Note, however, that no tracks are maintained for in the section where network information is used.)

iPhone Users
Current location information is currently not available indoors and anywhere else GPS signals cannot be received.

Try using the watch's Google Play to update to the latest version of the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app. For update procedures, refer to "Settings Required to Use CASIO Apps".
Q7It takes a long time to acquire location information from GPS.
The initial GPS location information acquisition operation after you were indoors or after you had the watch turned off for a long time may take 10 minutes or more to complete.
Subsequent location information acquisition will be quicker.
For the initial positioning operation, start up the GPS using app in an area with a clear view of the sky, and keep the watch still until the positioning operation is complete.
This will make positioning easier. Vigorous movement will cause the positioning operation to take longer.
Q8Acquiring location information using the WSD-F20 watch
Watch Paired with an Android Smartphone
When the watch is close enough to its paired phone to communicate with it, it will use the phone's location information. The watch's built-in GPS is used when the phone's location information is turned off or when the watch is unable to communicate with the phone.

Watch Paired with an iPhone
The CASIO Location Memory and Activity apps use the watch's built-in GPS. The WSD-F10 does not have built-in GPS, so it always uses location information from a smartphone.

Charging, Power Supply

Q1Why can't I turn on power?
Try one of the procedures below.
・ Unplug and the AC adapter (used for charging) and the provided charger cable, and then plug them back in again.
・ Hold down the power button for about 12 seconds to reset.
Q2Why can't I charge the watch?
・ Confirm that the provided AC adaptor and charger cable are securely connected.
・ Make sure that you are using the provided AC adaptor and charger cable correctly. Using a non-specified USB connector to supply power, using an extension cable with the charger cable, and other improper use can result in unstable power supply and interfere with charging.
・ Check the charger terminals and charger cable connectors for dirt, dust, or other foreign matter. Clean the charger terminal and charger cable connectors by wiping them with a clean, dry cotton swab or cloth, and then reconnect the charger cable and try charging again.
・ Do not try to charge the watch in a location where it is extremely cold or hot. Doing so creates the risk of deterioration of the built-in battery, which will cause charging to stop automatically to protect it. Charging will resume automatically when temperature returns to the normal range.
Charging with in the following temperature range is recommended: 10℃ to 35℃.
Q3Why does the charge LED turn green before a 100% charge is reached? Why won't the watch charge up to 100%?
Charging in a location where it is extremely cold or hot creates the risk of deterioration of the built-in battery, which will automatically limit charging to protect it. Under such conditions, you may not be able to achieve a 100% charge. Charging within the following temperature range is recommended: 10℃ to 35℃.
Q4Why does the watch battery seem to be running down very quickly?
You can use any of the settings below to reduce battery power use.
● Change the watch face type to "2 Layer".

Or:
● Use the watch's OS settings to disable " Tilt to Wake Screen".

Or:
● On the watch's app list, select the Timepiece app to enter the Timepiece Mode.

● Entering the Timepiece Mode disables communication functions so the watch only displays the current time.
Q5Is there anything to keep in mind if I don't plan to use the watch for some time?
To help promote longer battery life, regular charging of the watch (about once a month) is recommended even if you do not use it for a long time.
Q6Are settings lost when battery power goes low?
The watch automatically disconnects from the phone whenever remaining battery power drops below a certain level, but settings are retained. Important data is retained in watch storage.
Q7Can the battery be replaced?
This watch uses a special rechargeable battery, which cannot be replaced by you. If you start to feel that the amount of operation provided by a charge is too short, contact your original retailer or CASIO service center.
Q8How can I conserve battery power?
● Select OFF for the "Always-on Screen" setting. Settings > Display > Always-on Screen

● Select OFF for the "Save Daily Location Info" setting. Location Memory > Settings > Save Daily Location Info

● Frequent location information acquisition after an activity is started runs down battery power. Don't forget to stop an activity after it is finished.

● When Wi-Fi connection is not required, turn off Wi-Fi. Settings > Connectivity > Wi-Fi

● Leaving apps running in the background can quickly run down battery power. Uninstall of unneeded apps is recommended.

Q1What is the back cover made of?
Stainless steel.

Q3What is the band made of?
Soft urethane resin.
Q4How long does it take to achieve full charge?
Approximately two hours at normal temperature. Actual charging time depends on the discharge state of the battery and temperature where charging is performed.
Q5How much operation can be expected after a full charge?
・ Approximately one day or more when only the color LCD is used.
・ Approximately 2.5 days or more when the "Always-on Screen" setting is OFF and the color and monochrome LCDs are used together.
・ Approximately 3.5 days or more when only the monochrome LCD is used in the Theater Mode.
・ Approximately 1 month or more when only the monochrome LCD is used in the Timepiece Mode.

● Android Wear functions are disabled while the smart watch is in the Timepiece Mode.
● Actual operation time depends on the environment where the watch is being used.
Q6How much impact can the watch withstand?
Shock resistance is based on the assumption of normal daily use. Throwing the watch, or subjecting it to excessive dropping or other extreme shock can cause it to break.

Be sure to read the information in the manual under "Precautions During Use" and "User Maintenance" in order to ensure proper use of this watch. Failure to use the watch in accordance with this information creates the risk of overheating, fire, electric shock, personal injury, and accident. The functions of this watch have been confirmed under test environments, but no guarantees are made concerning operation under all environments where it may be used. Also, no guarantees are made concerning the ability of the watch to withstand damage or malfunction.
Q7What is the operating temperature range?
Operating temperature ranges for each model are shown below.
WSD-F10 0°C to 40°C
WSD-F20, F20S -10°C to 40°C

Never leave the watch on the dashboard of a car, near a heater, or in any other location that is subject to very high or very low temperatures for long periods. Doing so creates the risk of malfunction. Leaving the watch in an area hotter than 60ºC for long periods can lead to problems with its LCD. The LCD may become difficult to read at temperatures lower than 0ºC and greater than +40ºC.
Q8What is the accuracy of the watch?
This watch adjusts its time settings by communicating with a phone. Timekeeping accuracy depends on the phone being used along with it.
Q9Does the watch have a GPS receiver?
WSD-F10
GPS is not built in.
Location information is based on your phone's GPS.

WSD-F20, F20S
GPS is built in.
When GPS data cannot be acquired from a phone, it is acquired using the watch's GPS.
Q10Why doesn't anything happen when I touch the touch panel or press a button? Why is operation slow?
Operation can become heavy immediately after configuring watch pairing settings and immediately after startup, because a large number of processes need to be performed. If this happens, wait for a while and then try again. If watch operation slows down after normal use, try restarting the watch.
Q11Why doesn't the watch respond to tap operations?
The watch may not respond to touch panel operations in the cases described below. Also note that the types of screen operations below can also lead to damage to, and misoperation and malfunction of the watch.
・ Operation while wearing gloves
・ Operation using a fingertip
・ Operation using a ballpoint pen, pencil, or other sharp object
・ Operation while foreign matter is on the display
・ Operation while a protective sheet or sticker is on the display
・ Operation by pressing the display with undue force
・ Operation while there are water droplets or condensation on the display
・ Operation under water
Q12Why are their gaps in the altitude and barometric pressure graphs, and why aren't displayed number of step and calories burned values correct?
Altitude, barometric pressure, number of steps, and other readings are not performed while the watch is turned off or while it is in the Timepiece Mode. Because of this, no data is shown in graphs or incorporated into displayed values during such periods.
Also, lack of connection between the watch and phone for a long period will also cause gaps in graphs and incorrect measurement values.
Q13What should I do if the inside of the glass becomes fogged?
The inside surface of the glass may fog when the watch is exposed to a sudden drop in temperature. No problem is indicated if the fogging clears up relatively quickly.
Sudden and extreme temperature changes (such as coming into an air conditioned room in the summer and standing close to an air conditioner outlet, or leaving a heated room in the winter and allowing the watch to come into contact with snow) can cause it to take longer for glass fogging to clear up.
If glass fogging does not clear up or if you notice moisture inside of the glass, immediately stop using the watch and contact your original retailer or to an authorized CASIO service center.
Q14What is there to know about the liquid crystal panel of the watch?
The liquid crystal panel on this watch uses high-precision technology that provides a pixel yield in excess of 99.99%. This means that some very small number of pixels may not light or may remain lit at all times. This is due to the characteristics of the liquid crystal panel, and does not indicate malfunction.

Apps

Q1How do I start up the app assigned to the [APP] button?
While the watch face display is at normal brightness (undimmed, press the [APP] button. If the watch face screen is not displayed, press the center power button to display it, and then press the [APP] button.
Q2How can I add apps to the watch?
You can install additional apps using the watch's Play Store app.
Q3Can I uninstall apps that come pre-installed on the watch?
No.
You cannot uninstall pre-installed system apps. However, you can disable specific apps using the watch's OS settings.

Q4How do I use offline maps?
Map data can be downloaded from Mapbox and used offline by Activity and Location Memory. You need to download the map of the area beforehand while a Wi-Fi environment is available.

Q5Why am I having trouble using Mapbox map data?
To use Mapbox map data, you need to update your CASIO applications to their latest versions. For the procedure required to update apps, refer to "Settings Required to Use CASIO Apps".
Q6What should I do if Google Maps takes extremely long to display in Activity and Location Memory with a WSD-F2-/F20S watch that is paired with an iPhone?
Use your iPhone to pre-download Mapbox map data.
An iPhone takes an extremely long time to transfer and display Google Maps data. You should use Google Maps only when there is no downloadable map available for the area you want.
Q7Differences between Google Map and Mapbox
When connected with a phone: Use of Google Map is recommended. When not connected with a phone: Download maps from Mapbox.
Q8Is the area of maps downloaded from Mapbox the same as the area displayed on the download screen?
Basically, yes. However, the actual downloaded data may cover a wider area. The more limited the map area downloaded, the greater the detail when the saved map is zoomed. You can change the scale of a downloaded map by tapping the [+] and [-] buttons to the right of the map, or using TOOL/APP button operations.
Q9Where can I get information for non-CASIO apps?
Questions about apps should be directed to each app provider.

Q10Downloading Mapbox Maps
Configure the Location Memory or Activity app settings as described below.

1. Select Mapbox for the "Map Type" setting.
2. Tap "Download Map" and then select the map skin.
3. Adjust the size of the area to be downloaded, specify the location, and then tap "Fix" at the bottom of the screen.

Location Memory history is cleared when the operations below are performed.

Settings > (Select the name of the connected terminal.) > UNPAIR WATCH
● When the watch's CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app is uninstalled.
● Watch: Settings > Apps > System Apps > CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ > App Info > Tap “Clear data”.
● When the watch's built-in storage becomes full, the oldest history data is sequentially deleted to make room for new data.
Q13Map Content Precautions
The Google Maps and Mapbox map data used by the watch is acquired from a server as needed.
Note that map data is subject to change without notice.
Q14Is an old version of CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ used by WSD-F10 no longer required?

An old version of CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ cannot be used with Android Wear 2.0, and so it should be uninstalled.

CASIO MOMENT SETTER+

Q1What can I do with CASIO MOMENT SETTER+?
You can use it to configure settings for the MOMENT SETTER function that provides useful notifications while outdoors, detailed Tool app settings, and more. CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ must be installed to use the Revisit feature of Location Memory, and other functions.
● Not supported when using an iPhone (iOS).
Q2What phones are compatible with CASIO MOMENT SETTER+?
Smartphones running Android OS 4.3 or higher.
CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ does not run on an iPhone (iOS).

● CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ can be downloaded only by people living in a country where this watch is being sold.
Q3Why does an error message keep appearing after I install CASIO MOMENT SETTER+?
It takes some time before the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ phone app is available for use by your watch after it is installed on a phone. Please wait for a while and try again.

● The above is also true following an update of the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app.
● If the phone is not paired with the watch, the message "Cannot find CASIO watch" will appear.

Why do I need to do this?
This message will appear on a phone running Android 6.0 or higher. It means that CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ needs to access certain information on your phone in order to perform some of its functions.
The scope of such access is described below.

Location Info Access
Location info used to detect when you approach or move away from a specified location.

Activity

Q1What does the Activity app do?
You can display your current progress while you are engaged in one of the activities below.
● Climbing or trekking
● Fishing
● Cycling
● Kayaking and other paddle sports
● Snow sports (skiing, snowboarding)

You can configure the watch so, after you start an activity, it will display altitude, distance, speed, your route on a map and other information. You can also configure the watch to provide alerts that apply specifically to the activity you are currently engaged in. (MOMENT SETTER)

Paddle sports and snow sports are not supported by the WSD-F10.
Q2During trekking activity measurements, why is the speed shown by the watch different from my actual vertical speed?
Vertical speed values are calculated using altitude values that are converted from barometric pressure readings by the pressure sensor. This means that barometric pressure changes due to weather conditions can result in readings that are different from the actual altitude.

Q3During trekking activity measurements, why is my vertical speed shown as 0m/h (0ft/h)?
The watch performs a measurement startup routine during the first five minutes after starting the activity. At that time the vertical speed will be shown as 0m/h (0ft/h).

Q4During cycling activity measurement, why isn't my speed displayed correctly?
Speed calculations are performed using the GPS function, so calculation results may not be exact. Or the displayed values may be a number of seconds old due to communication timing. Note that screen refreshing is delayed when the display is dark.

Q5During cycling activity measurement, why isn't my distance traveled displayed correctly?

Tool App

Q1What does the Tool app do?
The Tool app is a built-in app by CASIO.
It has the following functions: compass, altimeter, barometer, sunrise and sunset times, Tide Graph, Fishing Time, and Activity Graph.
Q2Why doesn't the Activity Graph display properly? Why does it show me riding in an automobile when I am not?
The activity shown by the Activity Graph is based on data being picked up by various sensors. An activity that is difficult to detect by the sensors, short activity duration, and other factors can cause the watch to come to a wrong conclusion about your current activity.
Q3Why is the calories burned value shown by the Activity Graph different from by the actual number of calories burned?
For the watch to be able to perform calories burned calculation, you must use the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ phone app “Profile Settings" to input your current body weight. The Activity Graph determines your activity by your arm movement and other factors, and calculates calories burned accordingly. If you are engaged in an activity that is difficult to detect by the sensors, the watch may come to a wrong conclusion about the type of activity you are currently engaged in. If that happens, the calories burned values it calculates may not be exact. Even if the watch is able to determine your activity correctly, calculations are performed using generally acceptable coefficients, which may result in calculation values that are different from those actually being produced.
Q4Why can't I catch any fish during the indicated fishing times?
Fishing time calculations are performed by determining the Moon's hour angle and age, based on the GPS longitude. Of course, there are other natural factors that affect fish behavior, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to catch fish during the indicated fishing times.
● With the WSD-F10, the watch will not be able to perform calculations correctly if there is no communication with the phone, because it cannot obtain GPS values.
Q5Why are the low tide time and tide level, and the high tide time and tide level I find in a newspaper or on the web different from those indicated by the watch?
Actual tidal phenomena fluctuate in accordance with weather, the season, and various other factors, and may give rise to irregularities not in accordance with calculated values. Certain conditions may result in actual tides being different from calculated data.
Because of this, the information produced by the Tide Graph function of this app and watch should be treated as approximate reference information only. Never use this information for any decisions about tide that may put safety at risk. For navigation purposes, be sure to use official tide charts for the area you are navigating.
Q6Why don't the sunrise and sunset times of the watch match actual times?
Sunrise and sunset time calculations are related to atmospheric refraction, which changes day by day. There is no way for calculations to take daily changes in the atmosphere into consideration. Also, calculations cannot factor in local topographic conditions, which also affect sunrise and sunset times. Finally, though calculations use longitude, latitude, and altitude data, such data provided by the GPS is not high precision, which affects calculation results.
Q7Why are the sunrise and sunset times I find in a newspaper or on the web different from those indicated by the watch?
The sunrise and sunset times calculated by the watch are based on GPS latitude and longitude of your current location, and so they may not exactly match the times for the location used for determining the times shown in a newspaper or website. Also note that calculations always assume a level horizon, and local topography is not taken into consideration. Calculation results include error, which increases at higher latitudes.

Q8Why is the altitude displayed by the watch different from the actual altitude?
The watch's altimeter calculates and displays relative altitude based on barometric pressure readings measured by its pressure sensor.
Because of this, readings taken at different times at the same location may produce different altitude values due to changes in air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, and other factors.
Also note that values displayed by the watch may be different from elevations indicated for areas where you are located.
When using the watch's altimeter while mountain climbing or engaged in similar activities, you need to be sure to perform regular calibration in accordance with the local altitude (elevation) indications.

Q9Why aren't altitude readings correct even though I am using "Calibrate for current location"?
"Calibrate for current location" corrects altitude based on GPS information. Though it automatically calibrates altitude readings, GPS measurement values are used as-is (without any correction), so the calibrated result may not necessarily match actual altitude or elevation above sea level. Such factors as the geoid elevation effect may result in errors in calibrated altitude readings.
For more accurate altitude readings, remove the check mark from "Calibrate for current location" and manually calibrate altitude readings at frequent intervals. With the WSD-F10, GPS information measured by a phone is used.
Q10Why does the barometric pressure graph indicate sudden changes or have missing segments?
● The graph may indicate a large jump when you change altitudes by moving to another location, or when there is a large fluctuation in barometric pressure due to sudden change in weather or temperature.
● A barometric pressure value is saved every hour.
Q11Why are direction readings incorrect?
What does it mean when a clock figure appears on the watch display when I try to take a compass reading?
Compass readings and compass calibration will not be possible if the watch is in the vicinity of a permanent magnet (magnetic accessory, etc.), metal objects, high-voltage wires, aerial wires, or electrical appliances (TV, computer, cellphone, etc.)
Also, magnetization guidance may appear on the display after the charger cable is connected to the watch, or in a location where there is strong magnetism. If it does, move your arm around so the face of the watch randomly points forward, back, up, down, left, and right a number of times until the guidance disappears from the display. For serious mountain climbing and other activities that require accurate bearing readings, take along a highly reliable compass to use in combination with the watch's compass.

Yes. You can select a Tide Graph point using the Tool app.

World Time lets you select a city as your Home City (the city where you normally live).

Q3Why does a watch face dial appear totally black without displaying anything?
Display of the phone battery level requires information from your phone, so the dial displaying it may go blank if communication with the phone is not possible. Also note that the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ phone app must be installed on your phone to support this capability.
A compass dial will become blank if the watch has been exposed to strong magnetism. Calories burned information will not be displayed unless the "Save daily activity records" setting is enabled.

Q4Why does "----" appear in a dial in place of an altimeter or barometric pressure value?
"----" may appear in place of the altitude or barometric pressure value in rare case that the current circumstances are interfering with proper pressure sensor operation. If this happens, wait for a while and then try again. If "----" remains on the display for a long time, it could indicate sensor malfunction. Contact a CASIO service center.
Q5Why are there missing segments in the altitude graph?
Missing segments in a graph are caused when altitude and/or barometric pressure readings could not be recorded because the watch was turned off due to a low battery power or some other reason. Note that this can also happen when pressure sensor measurement is interrupted due to a temporary system abnormality.
Q6Why can't I exit the monochrome digital watch face on the screen?
The watch may be in the Timepiece Mode. Hold down the watch's power button for about two seconds to exit the Timepiece Mode.
Q7My smart watch shows a monochrome watch face screen. Buttons and the touch panel don't work. What's wrong?
It probably means that Android Wear has been disabled because your smart watch battery is low. Your smart watch is designed to switch to a monochrome watch face automatically and maintain timekeeping functions only after its battery charge drops below a certain level. This is indicated by two horizontal lines (one under the date, and one under the hours and minutes).
Try connecting the charger cable and charging the watch.
Q8The monochrome watch face is displayed even though I selected OFF for the "Always-on Screen" setting. What's wrong?
The smart watch does not go entirely blank even when OFF is selected for the "Always-on Screen" setting.
While OFF is selected for the smart watch's "Always-on Screen" setting, the color LCD will turn off and the monochrome watch face will appear after a specific period of non-use. The monochrome watch face minimizes power consumption by providing timekeeping functions only.
Q9How can I change information displayed by a dial of the Authentic, Field, and Multi watch faces?
Tap a dial to change the information displayed there.

Location Memory

The Location Memory app displays color maps.

In order to add memos or marks to a map, the watch needs to be acquiring location information. If location information cannot be acquired for some reason, memos and marks will not be displayed. Try moving to a location where GPS information can be acquired.

Q1Why can't I connect with a Bluetooth® camera?
The only camera the watch can connect with is an EXILIM EX-FR Series camera.

Q5The EX-FR100/200 controller is off, so why can't I connect the watch?
The EX-FR Series camera may be frozen. On the EX-FR Series camera, press the [RESET] button to restart it.
Q6The watch has a round display, so what is the shape of stored images?

Q1Why am I having trouble forming a group?
If you are trying to form a group using a phone:
Use of a phone running lower than Android 5.0 or iOS9 is not supported.

If you are trying to form a group using the watch:
The phone connected with the watch must be running Android 4.3 or higher.
(This watch cannot be used to create a group while it is connected with an iOS device.)

Messages cannot be viewed after a group is broken up.
Q8What should I do if I receive an invitation to join a group from someone I don't know?
This may happen when there are multiple leaders nearby gathering group members. Do not respond to invitations from people you do not know.
Q9What should I do if a person I do not know becomes a member of my group?
Break up the existing group and then form a new group with the desired members.
Q10How long is location information shared?
Information sharing with a group is discontinued in the cases described below.

If a participant leaves the group, information sharing with that participant is discontinued.
Q11Why doesn't the location information of group members update?
● Location information for any member whose phone is outside its service range will not update.

Q12Why is the display of group member location information delayed?
To avoid running down the battery, member location information updating is not done in real time. This means there is a delay of 20 or 30 seconds, up to a few minutes.
Information updating also may be delayed when phone network conditions are bad.
Q13Why is location information inaccurate?
Location information accuracy depends on the phone you are using. leave the location information setting turned on.
For Android, you need to turn on the "High accuracy" setting.
Q14Why is location information highly inaccurate?
If a phone is not equipped with GPS, locations are specified using network information. This can result in errors of several hundred meters. Use of some phones may result in large error in the GPS information that is obtained. Note that if this happens, participant locations displayed on the map will not be correct.
Q15Why is message notification delayed?
Some phones have a setting that can be used to delay messages. Also, some phones have a setting that can be used to disable information updating.

Notification Message Precautions
New messages may not come in if there are too many notification cards accumulated on the phone. The watch may display only the last message received.
Messages are accumulated on the phone notification bar and/or in the watch face notification cards. To view accumulated messages, display the watch face and then view notification card contents.
Q17Why doesn't the message list refresh when a notification is received?
With the current version of the app, message list updating is delay by up to 30 seconds.
Q18Can I use watch and app to keep tab on my kids or check on the safety of my friends?
The accuracy of GPS location information and the frequency of information updating depends on local conditions. Do not use this app for the purpose of safety monitoring of others.
Q19About Packet Communications
After you create a group, regular packet charges are generated because location information is sent periodically to each group member. Because of this, use of a flat-rate plan is recommended.
Q20I can view a received messages as a phone notification, so doesn't it appear in CASIO MOMENT LINK running on my terminal?
If multiple messages are received at the same time, only the last message received may be displayed. Messages are accumulated on notification cards of the watch face. If you display the watch face you will be able to view notification contents.

Handling and Care

Q1Are there any precautions concerning water proofing?
The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5 atmospheres).

After submersion in seawater, use plain water to rinse all salt and dirt from the watch. In order to maintain water resistance, periodic replacement of the gaskets of the watch (about once every two or three years) is recommended.
Q2How do I fasten the band to my wrist?
There should be enough room between the band and your wrist so you can insert your finger. Tightening the band too tightly can cause you to sweat and make it difficult for air to pass under the band, which can lead to skin irritation.
Q3Is there any special handling for resin parts?
Allowing the watch to remain in contact with other items or storing it together with other items for long periods while it is wet can cause color on resin components to transfer to the other items, or the color of the other items to transfer to resin parts. Be sure to wipe off any water before storing the watch and make sure it is not in contact with other items.
Leaving a band where it is exposed to direct sunlight (ultraviolet rays) for long periods or failure to clean dirt from a leather band for long periods can cause it to become discolored.
Friction caused by certain conditions (strong external force, sustained rubbing, impact, etc.) can cause discoloration of painted components.
Daily use and long-term storage of the watch can lead to deterioration, breaking, or bending of resin components. The extent of such damage depends on usage conditions and storage conditions.
Q4What needs to be done for regular user maintenance?
You wear the watch next to your skin, just like clothing. Always keep it clean. To ensure the watch performs at the level for which it is designed, keep it clean by frequently wiping with a soft cloth to keep your watch and band free of dirt, sweat, water and other foreign matter.
Whenever the watch is exposed to sea water or mud, rinse it off with clean fresh water.
For a resin band, wash with water and then wipe dry with a soft cloth. Note that sometimes a smudge like pattern may appear on the surface of a resin band. This will not have any effect on your skin or clothing. Wipe with a cloth to remove the smudge pattern.
Not operating button for long periods can lead to later operation problems. Periodically press buttons to maintain proper operation.

Problems Caused by Poor Watch Care
Rust
・ Though the stainless steel used for the watch is highly rust-resistant, rust can form if the watch is not cleaned after it becomes dirty.
Dirt on the watch can make it impossible for oxygen to come into contact with the metal, which can lead to breakdown of the oxidization layer on the metal surface and the formation of rust.
・ Rust can cause sharp areas on metal components and can cause band pins to fly out of position or to fall out. If you ever notice any abnormality immediately stop using the watch and take it to your original retailer or to an authorized CASIO service center for (paid for) repair.
・ Even if the surface of the metal appears clean, sweat and rust in crevasses can soil the sleeves of clothing, cause skin irritation, and even interfere with watch performance.

Premature Wear
・ Leaving sweat or water on a resin band or storing it an area subject to high moisture can lead to premature wear, cuts, and breaks.

Skin Irritation
・ Individuals with sensitive skin or in poor physical condition may experience skin irritation, and should frequently clean the watch and band. Should you ever experience a rash or other skin irritation, immediately remove the watch and contact a skin care professional.
Q5Are there any precautions concerning putting on, taking off, or wearing the watch?
・ To prevent accidentally falling over and injury, carefully check the area around you to ensure you are in a safe place before looking at the display of the watch.
・ Looking at the watch while running or jogging on the open road, while riding a bicycle, or operating a motor vehicle can lead to accidents. Take care to avoid running into others.
・ While engaged in some activity (bicycle riding, mountain climbing, fishing, etc.), first make sure that any devices you may be using are fully stopped before looking at the watch display.
・ To avoid unexpected injury or skin rash due to allergic reaction, remove the watch before sleeping.
・ When picking up or otherwise coming into contact with a child, remove the watch to avoid possible injury to the child or skin rash due to allergic reaction.

・ If you do not plan to use the watch for a long time, thoroughly wipe it free of all dirt, sweat, and moisture, and store it in a location that is not exposed to high temperature, high moisture, or direct sunlight. It is also recommended that you use the setting screen to turn off watch power.
・ Do not allow the watch to come into contact with thinner, gasoline, solvents, oils, or fats, or with any cleaners, adhesives, paints, medicines, or cosmetics that contain such ingredients. Doing so can cause discoloration of or damage to the resin case, resin band, and other parts.
・ If metal components is exposed to sweat or water, wipe thoroughly with a soft, absorbent cloth and then place the watch in a well-ventilated location to dry.
・ Failure to clean dirt from metal components can lead to formation of rust, even if the components are stainless steel or plated.

CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ Phone App
To enable full use of all the functions of the watch, you need to download the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app to your phone. Note that the CASIO MOMENT SETTER+ app can be downloaded only by a person who is in the country where the watch was purchased.

This watch and software complies with or has received approval in and should be used in the areas listed below.

Q2Will auto time adjustment be correct in other countries?
Configuring the watch date and time settings as described below causes the watch's current time setting to be synchronized with the setting of the smartphone.

● Sync from phone specified for Automatic date & time.
● Sync from phone specified for Automatic time zone.

If the smartphone time is changed to another location's time while the watch is not connected with the smartphone (in the Airplane Mode, etc.), the watch may not be able to synchronize its time with that of the smartphone even if they are reconnected. If this happens, adjust the time, and then enter and exit the watch’s Airplane Mode. If this happens, enter and exit the watch’s Airplane Mode.
