When the watch is paired with an Android phone whose location information is enabled, the Activity app uses location information acquired by the phone. Under this condition, the accuracy and suitability of location information, pace, distance, and other measurements while the Activity app is running depend on phone capabilities. Also, more phone battery power is consumed at this time because the phone needs to acquire location information frequently.
Configure the settings below when you want to use the GPS built-into the watch or when you want to reduce phone battery consumption.
Configuring Settings
Method 1 Turn off the watch's Bluetooth.
Swipe the watch face from top to bottom and then tap the Airplane mode icon to turn on the Airplane Mode.
Note that while in the Airplane Mode, the watch does not display notifications from the phone.
Method 2 Configure settings to location information is not obtained from the phone.
Note that this method disables watch access to phone location information services that use maps, etc.
