- An electronic musical instrument with a MIDI terminal can be used as a MIDI keyboard. And, an electronic musical instrument with a USB (to host) terminal can be used as a MIDI keyboard by connecting to a computer via a USB cable.

MIDI; MIDI means Musical Instrument Digital Interface is a worldwide standard for digital signals that allows music data (key press and release, the strength of touch, etc.) to be exchanged between electronic musical instruments or between electronic musical instruments and computer.
General MIDI; GENERAL MIDI specifies the detailed sound source operations not specified by the MIDI standard, and it provides a high level of compatibility between different MIDI instruments that support General MIDI, enabling the reuse of song data.
There are General MIDI Level 1 and General MIDI Level 2 depending on the level of compatibility.
