Wireless LAN Functions

Q5
I am using firmware version 2.0 or higher. Why can't I connect by Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi)?
A5
 • The smartphone may be connected with another wireless LAN.
Check the smartphone's Wireless LAN settings and confirm that the camera is selected for Wireless LAN connection.
 • You may experience problems establishing a connection with your camera if the smartphone you are using is set up for automatic switching of Wi-Fi connections (auto network switching). If this is the problem, change your smartphone's Wi-Fi settings.
 • Move the camera so it is very close to the smartphone, computer, or other device being connected to.
Too much distance between the camera and the other device may make connection impossible because the signal cannot reach it.
 • Make sure the camera is turned on. Turning off the camera disables wireless LAN. When you turn the camera back on again, you will need to use "Remote Capture", "Send Displayed Image to Phone" or "Send to phone" to re-establish the wireless LAN connection.
 • What you need to do to establish a connection depends on the type of smartphone you are using.
For details, see the user documentation that comes with your smartphone.
 • Double-check the SSID and password. The SSID and password are different for each camera.
 • Connection may have been lost due to interference caused by a nearby microwave oven, cordless phone, or other wireless LAN device. Move the camera away from the device causing the problem.
 • Attempting to use a memory card that includes a wireless function can cause interference and abnormal operation.
 • Check to make sure that the connected wireless devices is IEEE 802.11b/g/n standard.
 • If you have sent the camera in for repair, note that some repair procedures result in the SSID and/or password being changed.
If this happens, you will need to reconfigure SSID and password settings.

IMPORTANT!
 • Never use wireless LAN functions inside an aircraft or anywhere else where such operation is restricted.

NOTE
 • Note that using wireless LAN functions requires more battery power usage than normal.
Make sure that the camera battery is sufficiently charged before starting a wireless LAN operation.
