When things don't go right...

Q1
Power does not turn on.
A1

1) The battery may be dead. Charge the battery. If the battery goes dead soon after
being charged, it means the battery has reached the end of its life and needs to be
replaced. Purchase a separately available CASIO NP-80 rechargeable lithium ion battery.

2) The battery may not be loaded correctly.
Perform the following procedure to check the battery.
     1. Insert a thin, pointed object into the hole in the battery cover and slide the stopper towards
the monitor screen side of the camera.
     2. Holding the camera so its battery compartment is facing downwards, slide the stopper
upwards. This will cause the battery to come part way out. Carefully pull the battery out
         of the camera.
     3. Check to make sure that the battery is oriented correctly.
        • The EXILIM logo on the battery should be facing upwards (towards the monitor screen
           side of the camera).
        • Check to make sure that the battery terminals are facing towards the inside of the camera,
           not towards the battery cover.
