Can the wireless LAN communication setting be turned on or off on the camera?

Yes. To disable wireless communication, select "On" for Airplane Mode. Enter the airplane mode to disable generation of radio waves from the camera while in a medical facility, on an aircraft, etc.
Procedure
1. On the camera, Press [MENU]. “REC MENU tab” or “PLAY MENU tab” Wireless Mode.
This will display the wireless mode screen.
2. On the camera, use the <up>, <down>, <left>, and <right> keys to select “Wireless settings” and then press [SET].
This will display the wireless settings screen.
3. On the camera, use the <up> and <down> keys to select “Airplane Mode” and then press [SET].
4. Change the Airplane Mode setting to "ON".
5. When the settings are the way you want, press [SET]
• Pressing [MENU] cancels the currently displayed settings and returns to the wireless mode screen.
