If I shoot a snapshot or movie in portrait orientation, will it be displayed on the monitor screen automatically in portrait orientation?

Yes. You can configure the "Auto Rotate" on the "SETTING" tab of the MENU screen so images are automatically positioned in accordance with the camera orientation during playback.
If "Off" is selected for the "Auto Rotate" setting, images will be displayed in landscape orientation (relative to the camera's monitor screen), regardless of whether "Auto Rotate" is turned on or off an image was shot.
Auto Rotate Precautions
• Rotating a CS group causes all of the images in the group to be rotated.
• Auto Rotate does not actually rotate the image data. It simply changes the image display orientation.
• Images are displayed in normal landscape orientation on the image menu screen.
