- What can I do with Interval Shot?

- Interval Shot lets you record a specified number of images at fixed intervals. This function is useful when recording the movement of stars, a blooming flowers, etc.
• When using this function, shooting with a tripod is recommended.
• To prevent loss of power while shooting, use a fully charged battery.
• Make sure the memory card you are using has sufficient unused space before using this function.
Procedure
1. Align the mode dial with "TL"(time Lapse).
2. Press [SET].
3. Use up/down keys to select "TL" on the Control Panel and then press [SET].
4. Use Up, down, left, and right keys to select "Interval Shot", and then press [SET].
5. Press [SET], select "TL(Time Lapse Settings)", and then press [SET].
6. Use up/down keys or control dial to select "Interval" or "Shots", and then use right/left keys to specify a value.
Interval Specifies the shooting interval. Shots Specifies the number of shots.
7. Press [SET].
• Time current Interval Shot settings are shown at the bottom of the screen.
8. Press the shutter button to start recording.
• The specified number of images is recorded at the interval you specify in step6. To interrupt an ongoing time lapse operation, press the shutter button.
NOTE
• The monitor screen is blank while a time lapse operation is in progress. The camera's back lamp will be lit to indicate that recording is in progress. Performing a camera operation while the monitor screen is blank will cause screen contents to appear. Note, however, the changing the mode dial setting will cause the Interval Shot operation to stop.
• If the "Interval" settings is one minute or greater, the camera's lens will retract and the back lamp will go out between shots.
Turning on the camera while an Interval shot operation is in progress will cause a message to appear.
The camera's battery can be charged over a USB connection while the lens is retracted during Interval shot.
If you want the battery to be charged during Interval shot, set up the USB connection before starting the recording operation.
Connecting the USB cable while the lens is extended will cause camera power to turn off.
• The "Auto Flash" and "Red Eye Reduction" flash settings are not supported while a setting other than "Auto" is selected for the "Aperture" or "Shutter Speed" setting while using Interval shot. Selecting Interval Shot while an unsupported flash setting is in effect will cause the flash mode setting to change automatically to "Flash Off".
• The functions below cannot be used with this function.
Remote Capture, CS, Handsfree, Anti Shake, Zoom (SR), Continuous AF, Face Detection
• The Auto Power Off is disabled while shooting with this function.
• Even when the battery is fully charged, shooting conditions may result in your not being able to shoot all of the images you specify for the "Shots" setting.
• You will not be able to enter the PLAY mode while an Interval Shot operation is in progress.
