Compatibility mode
Due to compatibility issues between XP/Vista and Windows Vista, an error may occur during installation, or a program that has been installed successfully may not start up. If this happens performing the following steps to correct the situation.
1. Uninstall the program if it is already installed.
If the program is already installed on your computer, uninstall it. For information about uninstalling, see the user documentation that comes with the program.
2. Configure compatibility settings.
(1) Locate the program installer program, which is a file whose name has the extension "exe," such as: Setup.exe. Right-click the installer program and select "Properties" on the shortcut menu that appears.
(2) On the installer program properties dialog box that appears, select the "Compatibility" tab. In the "Compatibility mode" group, select the check box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:". Next, make sure that "supported OS (ex. Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" is selected, and then click [OK] to close the properties.
3. Install the program.
Double-click the installer program whose properties you changed under "2. Configure compatibility settings. " above to launch the installer. Proceed with installation in accordance with the documentation that came with the program and the instructions that appear on your computer screen.
