To install the update software on your instrument


• Please save any user data to a PC if necessary.
• After the update, you need to run the “All Initialize”.
• Connect the AC adapter to this instrument while you are operating the updating.
• Don’t remove the connector of AC adapter or USB cable from this instrument during the updating.
• Don’t touch any buttons which are not necessary for update process.
1. Hold down "Power " button while pressing both of "TAP/TEMP" and "PADSET" buttons, and release all buttons when "upd" appears on the display.
* If you want to terminate the update at this point, unplug the AC ADAPTOR from the instrument.

2. Press "PAD16", then "SUr" appears on the display.

3. Press "PAD16" again, then "CLr" appears on the display and start to delete firmware in the flash memory inside.
* Sequence step LEDs light on & off from 1 to 16 in order during this delete function.

4. "WAi" appears on the display after light off of sequence step LED16.

5. Connect your PC and the instrument with USB cable, then the instrument is recognized as memory device named "XW-PD1".

6. Uncompress the downloaded "XW-PD1_Updater-1_04.zip" file and drag "XW-PD1_Updater-1_04.bin" file and drop to "XW-PD1", then start writing update file to flash memory inside.
* Nothing appears on the display during updating.
* Sequence step LEDs light on & off from 1 to 16 in order.

7. After light off of sequence step LED16, finalization of update starts with lighting on of "STEP", "BANK", "PATTERN", "SLICE", "SAMPLING".

8. After light off of these LEDs, the instrument reboots automatically, if the update completes correctly.
* If "UPd" appears on the display at this point, repeat this update procedure from the scratch, because this update is not completed.

9. Execute "All Initialize".
* If "All Initialize" is executed, the system returns to its initial factory default state and all user data are deleted.
