Installing the Windows 2000 USB Filter Driver

Users of QV-8000SX / QV-2000UX / QV-2000UX/Ir can connect these products to Windows 2000 using the USB in the following manner.

Requirements for connecting USB to Windows 2000

1. CASIO USB cable.
2. The Filter Driver obtainable from this web site.
3. The standard USB driver installed on Windows 2000.
Important:
Note that only Administrators have the authority to install the USB driver.

Downloading and installing the Windows 2000 USB Filter Driver

1. Read the conditions of use and then download by clicking on the "Qv2kux_e.exe" file below. When a dialog box for saving appears, select a folder for saving and click on the [Save] button. Once saved, double click on the "Qv2kux_e.exe" file to unzip. A "Qv2kux_e" folder which contains the Filter Driver( "Qv2kux.inf" file and "Qv2kux.sys" file)and "readme.txt" file will be created at the same location.
2. Set the digital camera to "PLAY" mode.
3. Connect the digital camera to the computer using the USB provided.
4. [Found New Hardware Wizard] start up, and click on the [Next] button.
5. Select [Search for a suitable driver for my device( recommended )] , and click on the [Next] button.
6. Check [Specify a location], and click on the [Next] button.
7. Click on the [Browse...] button. Select the "Qv2kux.inf " file inside the "Qv2kux_e" folder on the HDD , and then click on the [Open] button.
8. Click on the [OK] button.
9. Find "Driver" and then click on the [Next] button.
10. Installation starts. When the [Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard] screen is displayed, click on the [Finish] button.
11. When installation of the USB Filter Driver is completed, click on the [Hardware] icon on the task bar, disconnect the USB cable, and then re-start the computer.
Reference

Uninstalling the Windows 2000 USB Filter Driver

1. Set the digital camera to "PLAY" mode.
2. Connect the digital camera to the computer using the USB provided.
3. Open [Device Manager].
[Start] - [Settings] - [Control Panel] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager]
4. Open [Universal Serial Bus controllers] in [Device Manager]. Double-click [Universal Serial Bus controllers].
5. Delete the [CASIO DIGITAL CAMERA].
6. Delete the following 3 files.
If Windows 2000 was upgraded from Windows 98:
C:\windows\System32\Drivers\Qv2kux.sys
C:\Windows\Inf\Oem*.inf
C:\Windows\Inf\Oem*.pnf
If Windows 2000 was pre-installed or newly installed, or was upgraded from Windows NT:
C:\Winnt\System32\Drivers\Qv2kux.sys
C:\Winnt\Inf\Oem*.inf
C:\Winnt\Inf\Oem*.pnf
Note that (*)in (Oem*.inf) and (Oem*.pnf) above means an undetermined figure ( 0,1,2... ). Namely, there may be not only one file for (Oem*.inf) and (Oem*.pnf) , for example : oem0.inf, oem1.inf, oem2.inf ... or oem0.pnf, oem1.pnf, oem2.pnf... One of the (Oem*.inf) files includes the message " CASIO DIGITAL CAMERA". Open all the corresponding files until you find the file containing this message. The (*) in the specific (Oem*.inf) and (Oem*.pnf) files should be replaced with the same figure.

Conditions of Use

1. This file is provided to help owners of QV-8000SX/QV-2000UX/QV-2000UX/Ir digital cameras install the USB driver on a Windows 2000 computer. It cannot be used for other digital cameras.
2. Regarding this file, the following acts are prohibited.
1) Changing or modifying.
2) Selling, distributing with other products, or incorporating into other products.
3) Attaching to or printing in books or magazines, or distributing or uploading on networks without permission.
