A5
Establishing a wireless LAN connection between the camera and a smartphone enables the functions described below.

Remote Capture*1,*2 :
Remotely control and shoot with the camera using a smartphone.
With firmware version 2.0 or higher, a Remote Capture operation can be started directly from the REC mode.
Send Displayed Image to Phone*1,*2 :
With firmware version 2.0 or higher, you can send an image (including movies) displayed in the PLAY mode to a smartphone.
Select with Phone App*1,*2 :
Send snapshots and movies recorded with your camera to your smartphone.
With firmware version 2.0 or higher, you can select the images you want to send from the PLAY mode.

*1 With firmware version 2.0 or higher, you need to have EXILIM Link V2.0 installed on your phone to use this function.
     • Note that use of EXILIM Link Version 1.0 or EXILIM Remote is not supported.
*2 Sending an image to a smartphone does not affect the image in camera memory.

IMPORTANT!
 • Never use wireless LAN functions inside an aircraft or anywhere else where such operation is restricted.
 • Some smartphone models may not be able to play back movie files that are sent to the smartphone.
 • Depending on your smartphone model, its operating system version, and/or its remaining storage capacity can cause failure of a movie or snapshot save operation. After send operation, perform the required operation on your smartphone to ensure that the movie or snapshot was saved properly.
 • Attempting to use a memory card that includes a wireless function with this camera can cause abnormal operation.
 • This camera can be used as an access point only.
It cannot be used as a client.

    Access Point:
This camera functions as an access point that allows it to be connected over a wireless connection to a smartphone or a computer, without going through a router, etc.

 • Note that the wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone is maintained even while the EXILIM Link app is not running on the smartphone or when the app is running in the background. Leaving a wireless LAN connection in effect will shorten camera battery life and cause the camera to become warm.
Shut down the EXILIM Link app and turn off the camera to terminate the wireless LAN connection whenever you are not using it.

• Note that the wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone is maintained even while the EXILIM Link Version 2.0 app is not running on the smartphone or when the app is running in the background.
Leaving a wireless LAN connection in effect will shorten camera battery life and cause the camera to become warm. Terminate the wireless LAN connection whenever you are not using it.
   1. Flick the controller screen.
   2. Touch “Yes”.
This terminates the wireless LAN connection between the camera and smartphone.
       - Exiting the application and turning off the camera also terminates the wireless LAN connection.

NOTE
 • Note that using wireless LAN functions requires more battery power usage than normal.
Make sure that the camera battery is sufficiently charged before starting a wireless LAN operation.
 • The controller cannot be used while wireless LAN (Wi-Fi communication) functions are being used.
