Improvements Provided by This Update

Controller: G Controller Ver1.00
This firmware changes the function for establishing a wireless connection between an FR Series controller and the GZE-1 digital camera (separately available).
 
IMPORTANT!
After updating to this firmware, the controller will no longer be able to establish a wireless connection with the following digital camera models: EX-FR100, EX-FR200.
То connect wirelessly the controller with the above FR Series camera models, go to the download page below and install controller firmware 'Ver3.00' or 'L Controller Ver1.00'.
EX-FR100L is not supported. Please do not install this firmware.
 
- You need to re-pair the camera and controller in order to establish a connection between them.
  1. Remove the memory card from the camera.
  2. While holding down the camera shutter button, hold down the power button for at least six second.
  3. While holding down the controller shutter button, hold down the power button for at least six seconds.
     The operation lamp will flash amber, and then the pairing operation required for Bluetooth connection will start.
 
  EX-FR100 camera model users
  - EX-FR100 camera model users should use camera firmware 'Ver2.10'.
    Wireless connection with the controller is not possible if the camera firmware version is older than 'Ver2.10'.

  EX-FR200 camera model users
  - EX-FR200 camera model users should use camera firmware 'Ver1.10'.
    Wireless connection with the controller is not possible if the camera firmware version is older than 'Ver1.10'.

Updating to this firmware provides the camera with the same functions as the GEC-10 Controller With LCD for the GZE-1 camera.

Applicable Users

EX-FR100 or EX-FR200 owners whose controller is still running Version 1.00, Version 1.10, Version 2.00, Version 2.01 or Version 3.00 firmware.

To check your firmware version

To check your current EX-FR series controller version
Turn on the camera and controller. Turning on power causes the camera and controller operation lamps to light green, and automatically starts an operation to establish a Bluetooth wireless technology connection between them.
Next, use the controller to perform the operation below.
Operation:  Show Icons -> MENU -> Setup -> Version
 
If "Ver.1.00", "Ver.1.10", "Ver.2.00", "Ver.2.01", "Ver.3.00" is displayed for the controller version, download this version update and install it on your controller.

Requirements for Installing This Update on Your Controller


To install this firmware update on your controller, you must copy it into the root directory (the top directory on the drive) of a controller. Because of this, you need to have the USB cable (that comes bundled with the camera) on hand.

1 License
CASIO, as the owner of this Software and other intellectual asset rights, grants you the following non-exclusive, non-transferrable, copyright license subject to the terms of this Agreement.
1) You may install and use this Software on your GZE-1 Digital Camera.
2) You may make one copy of this Software on a memory card for the purpose of installing the software on your GZE-1 Digital Camera.
2 Prohibitions
1) Except as permitted by this Agreement, you may not copy this Software either in part or its entirety.
2) You may not modify, alter, adapt, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software.
3) You may not resell, rend, lease, loan, or distribute this Software, or place the Software on a server or make it accessible by means of a network.
4) You may not sublicense or transfer this Software to a third party.
5) You may not use this Software for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with this Agreement.
3 Period of Agreement
1) This Agreement becomes binding as soon as you download the Software.
2) This Agreement becomes null and void when you destroy all of your copies of this Software.
3) CASIO may terminate this license at any time if you are in breach of the terms of this Agreement. Upon termination, you will immediately destroy the all of your copies of this Software.
4 Limitation of Liability
1) This Software is provided "as is," and CASIO makes no express warranty concerning the Software's ability to operate properly or to be free of defects, or concerning the correction of defects in the future, or the suitability of the Software functions for any particular purpose.
2) In no event shall CASIO be liable for any damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of information) arising out of the use of or inability to use this software, even if CASIO has been adviced of the possibility of such damages.
5 Other
1) Items not covered by the Agreement or items that require further negotiation shall be settled by mutual agreement between you and CASIO.
2) Any claim arising under or relating to this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
3) Any dispute arising under or relating to this Agreement shall come under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
