Is there some simple way to change the angle unit setting between degrees, radians, and grads?

You can change the default angle unit setting as explained here. Some models also support angle unit conversion, which lets you specify the angle unit as you input a value. The specified angle unit overrides the default angle unit mode setting.
For example (fx-991MS/fx-82ES)
To input 90゜ (degrees) while the default angle unit mode is radians.
