- How do the various zoom capabilities differ from each other?

- Your camera provides you with 4.0X Single SR Zoom (that applies super resolution technology to suppress image deterioration), which can be used in combination with digital zoom (that digitally processes the center portion of the image to enlarge it) for total zoom capabilities of 4.0X to 8.4X. The image deterioration point depends on the image size.
In the REC mode, press the <up> and <down> keys to zoom.
* Digital zoom is divided between two zones: a zone in which there is no coarsening of the image (HD Zoom) and a zone in which digital zoom causes coarsening of the image. The zoom operation will pause at the point where zoom crosses over from the HD Zoom zone and enters the zone in which coarsening of the image occurs. Remember that zooming past this point will cause deterioration of image quality.
Zoom Factor:
The image deterioration point depends on the image size. The smaller the image size, the higher the zoom factor you can use before reaching the image deterioration point.
IMPORTANT!
• When shooting with the ART SHOT Crystal Ball scene, the maximum zoom factor　is 2.0X.
