Power Requirements

Q1
How can I charge the camera's battery?
A1

You can use either of the two following methods to charge the camera's battery.

To charge with the USB-AC adaptor (Charging time: Approximately 175 minutes each for the camera and controller)
   - When power is turned off, the operation lamps perform the operations below on both the camera and controller.

Lamp Status Description
Lit Red Charging
Flashing Red Charging stopped due to abnormal internal tempreture, USB-AC adaptor problem, battery problem, or charging terminated by the timer
Off Charging complete

To charge using a USB connection to a computer  (Charging time: Approximately 175 minutes each for the camera and controller)

 - USB data communication may not be possible during charging, depending on the computer model being used or connection conditions.
 - Connect directly to a USB port what supplies a current of 500mA. For details about the power supply capacity of a computer's USB port, contact the manufacturer of the computer.
 - When power is turned off, the operation lamps perform the operations below on both the camera and controller.

Lamp Status Description
Lit Red Charging in progress (Data transfer with computer not supported.)
Flashing Red Charging stopped due to abnormal internal tempreture, USB-AC adaptor problem, battery problem, or charging terminated by the timer
Off Charging complete

 NOTE
 - A battery that has not been used for a long time, or ambient temperature extremes can cause charging to take longer than normal.
 - If charging takes longer than about five hours, a timer will terminate it automatically, even if the battery is not fully charged.
This is indicated by the operation lamp flashing red. If the battery has not been used for a very long time, charging may be terminated automatically and the operation lamp may start flashing red after only about 60 minutes. In either case, disconnect the USB cable from the camera and then reconnect it to resume charging.

IMPORTANT!
• Use only a specified USB-AC adapter and/or USB cable for charging. Use of a non-specified charger can result in charging problems.
• Shooting and viewing images are not supported while charging is in progress.
While the USB-AC adaptor is connected to the camera, press the power button. Power is supplied from the USB-AC adaptor while the camera is operating. Note, however, that this stops charging.

NOTE
• You can check the current battery charge level for both the camera and the controller on the controller's monitor screen.
