- Yes. This camera has a macro feature and a Super Macro feature.
The following are the approximate focusing ranges of each.
• Macro: 10cm to 50cm at full wide-angle
5cm to 50cm at fourth step zoom from full wide-angle
50cm to 70cm at full telephoto
• Super Macro: 5cm to 50cm (Super Macro Zoom position)
Super Macro
Super Macro fixes optical zoom at a position that allows you to shoot from the closest distance to the subject. The result is closer and larger subject images.
NOTE
• With BS Magnifying Glass you can enlarge the image even further from the closest macro zoom position using SR Zoom.
BS Magnifying Glass is for snapshots only, and cannot be used for shooting movies.
- Zoom factors depend on the image size.
For a 12M size image, the zoom factor is 3X for Single SR Zoom and 6X for digital zoom.
For a 3M size image, the zoom factor is 5.9X for Single SR Zoom and 11.7X for digital zoom.
• Single SR Zoom :
Single SR Zoom expands the zoom ratio in a way that minimizes image deterioration.
The black letters "SR" are on the monitor screen while Single SR Zoom is selected.
• SDigital Zoom :
Digitally processes the center of the image to enlarge it.
Remember that digital zoom causes deterioration of image quality.
Digital zoom is enabled (on) under initial factory default settings.
