- Why are there black bands along the top and bottom, or left and right of the viewfinder screen?

- This camera lets you select one of the following aspect ratio settings: 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 1:1.
With the 3:2 and 16:9 settings, the vertical width of the displayed image is compressed, and with the 1:1 setting the horizontal width is compressed. Black bands appear on the monitor screen when these aspect ratio settings are selected.
To eliminate black bands on the monitor screen, use the procedure below to select the 4:3 aspect ratio setting.

NOTE
Changing the aspect ratio setting also changes the image size and recording capacity (number of images).
