When things don't go right...

Q34
Is there any problem when the battery and/or camera becomes warm?
A34
No. This does not indicate malfunction of the camera.
Normal operation of the camera can cause the battery or the camera itself to become warm.  Any of the following can cause the interior of the camera to become hot, which can cause the "ALERT" message to appear and the camera to power down.
 • Using the camera non-stop for a long time.
 • Shooting under very high temperatures.
 • Using the camera immediately after leaving it in a location exposed to direct sunlight.

If the "ALERT" message appears and the camera powers down, leave the camera off and leave it to a cool location where it is not exposed to direct sunlight.
Normal operation will resume after the interior of the camera temperature drops.
