Q22
What can I do with Tracking AF function?
A22
While "Tracking" is selected for the AF Area setting, once you half-press the shutter button to focus on a moving subject, the focus frame will follow the subject automatically as it moves, and update the focus setting, as long as you keep the shutter button half-pressed. Note that zoom operations are not supported while Tracking AF is in progress.

Tracking AF does not work well when any one of the following conditions is present.
 • Subject is too small.
 • Shooting conditions are too bright or too dark.
 • Subject is moving very fast.
 • Subject and background are of similar color.
 • Hand movement or violent camera movement.

* The message "Lost" will appear if the camera loses track of the subject during a Tracking AF operation.
* If Tracking AF does not work properly, try using Spot AF.

NOTE
 • When Tracking AF is selected, the camera automatically updates subject focus.
This causes operation camera noise and vibration, and does not indicate malfunction.
 • If no face is detected when face detection is enabled, Spot AF focusing is used even if  "Tracking" is selected.
