- It may be because you have the anti shake setting enabled. Half-pressing the shutter button while "On" is selected for the Anti Shake setting causes an anti shake unit to operate, which requires a certain level of battery power. If you have anti shake enabled, charge the battery whenever the battery level indicator becomes orange (two segments displayed).
* You can get more shots out of a battery charge by changing the Anti Shake setting to "Shooting" or "Off" instead of "On".
