- Is there anything I need to keep in mind when using the USB cable to connect the camera directly to a PictBridge compatible printer?

Basically, all you need to do is configure the camera's USB setting so it matches compatible the printer's USB settings, and then connect with a USB cable.
It should be noted, however, that the camera supports Multi-Configuration. Connecting the camera by USB cable to a printer that supports Multi-Configuration automatically prints in accordance with the USB setting required by the printer. You do not need to change the USB setting of the camera in this case.
Note, however, that the printer you are using must support Multi-Configuration in order to use this feature. For details about whether a particular printer supports Multi-Configuration, contact the printer manufacturer.- According to tests on Multi-Configuration compatible printers conducted to date by CASIO, most printers connect to the camera using PictBridge.
