REC Mode/Recording Techniques

Q21
What can I do with HD Zoom?
A21
"HD Zoom" stands for "high-definition zoom". It lets you use digital zoom within a specific range without worrying about deterioration of image quality.
With HD Zoom, the center part of the image on the monitor screen is extracted and then simply enlarged so it fills the monitor screen. This means that though HD Zoom provides a higher quality recorded image, the displayed image appears coarser than the original image from which it was extracted. An image recorded with HD Zoom is extracted from the center of the original image, and so there is virtually no loss of image quality.
