Focus, white balance, EV shift, and other Control Panel and menu item functions can be assigned to the L/Y Key, Control Dial or Function Ring, which makes it easy to change their settings when required.
Functions that can be assigned to the Function Ring depend on the recording mode.
Available options for the "L/R Key" setting
• Motion Position
• AF
MacroSuper Macro ∞
(cannot select MF)
• AF Area
• Metering
• Face Detection
• ISO High Limit
• Off
* The "L/R Key" setting is ignored when manual focus (MF) is selected.
Functions that can be assigned to the Control Dial
• EV Shift
• White Balance
• Self-timer
• MF *
• Off
* Configure the settings below in order to directly adjust focus with the Control Dial.
- Face Detection : Off
- Make-up Level : 0(Off)
- Focus : MF
To assign functions to the Function Ring
1. In the REC mode, press [RING].
2. Use the <up>, <down>, <left>, and <right> keys or rotate the Function Ring to select the function you want to assign, and then press [SET].
Note
• Assigning "Step Zoom" to the Function Ring makes it possible to adjust optical zoom with the Function Ring.
• "MF" cannot be assigned while "On" is selected for the Face Detection setting.
