When things don't go right...

Q13: The flash does not fire.
A13: 1)If the message "Open the flash unit" appears on the monitor screen, slide the flash switch to
   open the flash unit. After you are finished shooting, press down on the top of the flash unit
   to close it.
   * Normally keep the flash unit closed. Open it only when you need the flash for shooting.
2)If Flash Off is selected as the flash mode, change to another mode.
3)If the battery is dead, charge it.
4)If a BEST SHOT scene that uses Flash Off is selected, change to a different
   flash mode or select a different BEST SHOT scene.
