Q7
How can I change the maximum sensitivity value applied when AUTO is selected for the ISO setting?
A7
The "ISO High Limit" setting specifies the upper ISO sensitivity limit when "AUTO" (ISO sensitivity set by the camera in accordance with the subject and shooting conditions) is selected for the camera's "ISO Sensitivity" setting. This means you must select "AUTO" for the "ISO Sensitivity" setting to enable the "ISO High Limit" setting.
When "ISO High Limit" is enabled, you can select a specific ISO value as the upper ISO sensitivity level. The "ISO High Limit" setting also has an "Auto" option, which lets the camera select the ISO upper limit automatically based on the subject and shooting conditions. Selecting "Auto" for the "ISO High Limit" sensitivity setting effectively makes "ISO Sensitivity" setting fully automatic.
Note the following when selecting a specific value for the "ISO High Limit".

    • When "ISO High Limit" is set to a small value
This setting produces less digital noise than the "Auto" setting when shooting a dark subject,
but it is prone to image blur due to camera movement and can result in dark images.

    • When "ISO High Limit" is set to a large value
This setting produces more digital noise than the "Auto" when shooting a dark subject,
but it enables shooting of darker subjects.

Procedure
REC mode "MENU"  REC MENU Tab  ISO High Limit
  Select from among: Auto, ISO200,  ISO400, ISO800,ISO1600, or ISO3200.
When "Auto" is selected, the camera automatically sets the "ISO High Limit" in accordance
with the subject and shooting conditions.

NOTE
    • When the “ISO Sensitivity” setting is something other than “AUTO”, the “ISO High Limit” setting
is ignored, and shooting is performed using the option selected for the “ISO Sensitivity” setting.
    • Enabling "High Speed Night Shot" automatically causes "ISO High Limit" to change to "Auto".
