Q5
What is the difference between the two shutter types?
A5
The camera has two shutter modes: an electronic shutter mode and a mechanical shutter mode.
When shooting with the electronic shutter, CMOS characteristics of the camera's imaging element can cause distortion of a moving objects, which makes their lines appear bent in the final image.
The mechanical shutter does not provide the high-speed Continuous Shutter and high-speed shutter capabilities of the electronic shutter, but it minimizes the distortion of moving subjects.
Use the shutter mode that suits the type of image you are trying to record.

The following are guidelines for deciding whether to use the electronic shutter or mechanical shutter for shooting snapshots.

• Use the electronic shutter when shooting with:
High Speed CS at 15fps or greater, or with Prerecord CS.

• Use the mechanical shutter when shooting with:
Single Shot mode. High Speed CS at 10fps or less, without Prerecord CS.
