If I copy movie files from the camera to a DVD, will I be able to view the movies using a DVD player?

No. Because of file format differences, you will not be able to view a movie file recorded with the camera on a DVD player if you copy it from your computer to a DVD.
It is recommended that you connect the camera to an HDD recorder or DVD recorder and record directly from the camera to the recorder.
Use an optional EMC-8A AV cable or a commercially available HDMI cable to connect the camera to a recorder. For details about how to connect to a particular HDD recorder or DVD recorder, refer to the user documentation that comes with it.
NOTE Use a HDMI cable that with a plug that is compatible with the camera's HDMI mini connector on one end, and a plug that is compatible with your TV's HDMI connector on the other end.
