When things don't go right...

Q2
The back lamp of the camera fails to light or goes out when I try to charge the battery.
A2
Charging the camera's battery using the supplied USB-AC adaptor or the USB cable (for connection to a computer's USB port) should cause the back lamp of the camera to light, indicating that charging has started.
The back lamp of the camera will go out after charging is complete.

The following reasons can cause failure of the back lamp to light or the back lamp to light and immediately go out.

1. The back lamp does not light
The USB cable is not connected correctly to the USB-AC adaptor or to the computer.
The USB cable is not connected correctly to the camera.
Making sure that the triangle mark on the camera is aligned with the triangle mark of the USB cable connector, connect the cable to the camera.

2. The back lamp lights and then immediately goes out.
Charging time (the time the back lamp remains lit) depends on the battery charge level, charging conditions, and other factors. Inability to charge a battery could mean that the battery is defective.
