REC Mode/Recording Techniques

Q17
Is there anything I need to keep in mind when using the HDR Art, BEST SHOT HDR, HS Night Scene, and HS Night Scene Portrait?
A17
HDR Art, HDR, HS Night Scene, and HS Night Scene Portrait all use High Speed CS (continuous shutter) to shoot a series of images, which are then combined into a final snapshot. Keep the following points in mind when shooting with these scenes.

• Hold the camera as still as possible while shooting is in progress.
Too much movement makes it impossible for the camera to correctly combine the images it shoots into a final snapshot.
• The camera will not be able to combine images properly if a subject is moving while shooting is in progress.
• The imaging area of these scenes is narrower than normal.
• If surroundings are extremely dark during shooting with HS Night Scene, the camera may not be able to shoot at proper brightness due to insufficient exposure.
• The LED light is automatically disabled whenever HDR Art, HDR, or High Speed Night Scene is being used.
• The camera will take longer to process the images shot with these BEST SHOT scenes than regular (non-High Speed) snapshots.
• Shooting under a flickering light source (such as fluorescent lighting) can cause stripes in recorded images.

* When shooting with these scenes, certain conditions may make it impossible to obtain the desired results.
* Certain shooting conditions may make it impossible for the camera to combine images properly.
