REC Mode/Recording Techniques

Q2
What is the difference between the Auto and On LED light settings?
A2
The camera's initial factory default LED light setting is Off. You can change the setting as desired.

Auto : The camera detects when lighting is low during snapshot recording, and automatically turns on the LED light when the shutter is half-pressed for Auto Focus, and fires the light when a snapshot is recorded.
In the case of movie recording, the LED light will turn on automatically when lighting is low.
On    : The light remains on, with its brightness continually adjusted in accordance with lighting and whether or not a face is detected.

NOTE
• Take care to keep the camera still when shooting.
• Take care to avoid long-term continued exposure of eyes to light.
Long-term exposure creates the risk of loss of eyesight.
• While the LED light setting is ON, do not use the LED light while it is pointed too close to a person's face.
Doing so creates the risk of loss of eyesight.
• Do not allow the light to shine in the eyes of anyone operating a motor vehicle, etc.
Light can interfere with the driver’s vision and create the risk of accident.
• When the LED light operates, the camera automatically adjusts white balance to match the LED light.
Because of this, the white balance level may not be appropriate for subjects not reached by the light or for outdoor subjects.
• The Auto setting is not available when using the LED light with EXILIM Remote.
In this case, the only available settings are On and Off.
