Dynamic Photo

Q7
I keep getting the message "Recognition failed! Secure the camera when shooting" when I try to shoot the subject for a Dynamic Photo image. What should I do?

Note the following points when shooting a subject for a Dynamic Photo.

1.  If the background of the subject is plain.
Take care to avoid conditions where the subject is reflected off of a wall or other background surface.
  1) When shooting against a background (such as a plain wall) that is a different color from the subject, check to make sure there are no marks or color variations in the background.
  2) Shoot so the subject is as large as possible.*
  3) Take care to ensure that external light and subject illumination do not cause unnecessary shadows.
  4) The subject can be recorded with a single shooting operation when "1" is selected for the "Number of Shots" setting.
2.  When shooting against a background that has markings on it (fixed camera position).
Images of the moving subject will not be stored if the camera is moved while recording the first image (subject and background) required by Dynamic Photo under this condition.
Also, the camera will not be able to extract the subject if the camera is moved while recording the second image (background only) required by Dynamic Photo.
If you are unable to fix the camera securely while shooting and unable extract the subject, try shooting against a plain background with "1" selected for the "Number of Shots" setting.

  1) Select a background with a color that is different from that of the subject. Compose the image so there is some reference mark to the left or right of the subject. Select a reference mark that will not be covered by the moving subject during shooting.
  2) Shoot so the subject is as large as possible.*
Make sure to keep the camera still. Use of a tripod is recommended.
  3) When shooting the second image (background only) required by Dynamic Photo, use the semi-transparent first image (background and subject) that appears on the monitor screen to compose the second image by aligning the reference mark. Use of a tripod is recommended because keeping the camera still maintains image composition so you do not need to re-compose the second image after eliminating the subject.
  4) Take care to ensure that external light and subject illumination do not cause unnecessary shadows.

*A subject that is too large cannot be extracted. You should compose the subject image so there are spaces to the left and right of the image, each of which is about one-fourth the width of the monitor screen, or spaces above and below the image, each of which is about one-fourth the height of the monitor screen.
