Q44: How do I focus when using Detect Panning?
A44: Find a location that the moving subject will move through, pre-focus on it (focus on the ground, etc.) by half-pressing the shutter button, and then wait for the subject to arrive. When the subject arrives at the location, fully press the shutter button as you move the camera to follow the movement of the subject. The camera releases the shutter automatically when it detects the optimum balance between the moving subject being followed and the blur of the background.
