Dynamic Photo

Q13
Why do I get poor results when extracting a moving Dynamic Photo subject?
A13
The camera may not be able to extract a subject successfully if it is unable to detect a distinct subject outline, in cases such as the following.

 • Subject lighting is dim or subject is moving quickly.
 • Subject and background are similar colors.
 • Subject is backlit or very brightly lit.
 • Subject is very large or very small.
 • Automobiles, bicycles, people, or other objects are moving behind the subject.
 • Trees, foliage, or flowers are between the subject and camera.

When any of the above conditions are present, try altering shooting conditions so the camera will be able to detect the outline of the subject more clearly, and shoot again. Note that parts of the foreground subject and background that are the same color may be transparent in the extracted subject.
