Power Supply

Q9 Why does the camera turn off even though the battery level indicator shows that batteries still have enough power?
A9
Any of the following conditions can cause the camera to shut down, even though the battery level indicator shows there is battery power remaining.
1) Entering the REC mode consumes a large amount of battery power. Even though the battery indicator shows battery power remaining in the PLAY mode, a sudden drop in voltage when you enter the REC mode can cause the camera to shut down.
2) Turning on the flash consumes a large amount of battery power. Even though the battery indicator shows battery power remaining in the REC mode, a sudden drop in voltage when the flash unit is charge can cause the camera to shut down.
3) Zoom, manual focus, infinity, and macro operations cause the lens to move, which consumes a large amount of power. This can cause the camera to shut down, even though the battery indicator shows power remaining.
4) The camera may not be able to tell how much battery power is remaining if you use partially charged nickel metal hydride batteries, or nickel metal hydride batteries with a capacity that is different from the batteries recommended by CASIO. This can cause the camera to shut down automatically, even though the battery indicator shows power remaining.
5) Even if you use up the full charge of a set of batteries, turning off power and not using the camera for a while can cause the battery indicator to show power remaining when you turn on the camera again. When you try to change some setting or perform some other operation, however, the camera may turn off when it finds out that battery power is low.
